since my last post. It seems like he learns a new word every day. It's amazing how quickly they pick things up.... one day he is going to pick up on some of Chris' "words". :~)
Ayden has actually had a rough week. He had his 3 bought of pink eye in 6 weeks, but it probably is in the eye duct, so we had to go on an oral antibiotic (AB). So after a few days, the oral AB cause some interesting outcomes as it passed through. Because of this we ended up pediatrician's office. Everything was fine, but later that day he had to get his monthly shot too. Then the next day he had to have an echo on his heart to make sure there is no pulmonary hypertension, which is always possible since he is on oxygen. The good news is there is none, the bad news is he HATES ultrasounds... he was one mad kid!!!
After all that... hopefully it's quiet here. Have a good day!!
This blog was originally started for Ayden for his journey through the process of decannulation. It has continued on beyond that time, although it's not always in a routine or timely fashion. Thanks for checking in with us.

No Fear...

No, no, no....
Sorry we haven't updated the blog recently... we haven't had too much to report. He is really getting to be a big boy! I say that every time I post, but it's hard to believe this former 26 weeker is doing so much so fast! He now recognizes his letter and numbers. He can't say them all, but he will sign all his letters and numbers. So his favorite book went from being Hand, Hand, fingers, thumb to the ABC book, both by Dr Seuss. :~)
With all of his new speech since the trach came out, he has now learned the word no. We have refused to teach him the word and asked the speech therapist to not teach it to him. So at almost 3, he has learned the word. Surprisingly he doesn't use it against us very much. Every now and then he will tell us no, but usually he uses it to tattle on himself. So when he does things that he shouldn't, we hear a "no, no, no".... but of course, like 2 or 3 year old, he still does what he knows he shouldn't do. :~)
In case you hadn't hear, we have had unseasonably warm weather here with highs in the 60s and low 70s, so he has really enjoyed getting out and playing on the playground.
